Vacuum Mixer/Coater for Pet Food and Fish Food. Ideal for obtaining high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing kibbles by adding high percentages of liquids to extruded products. A special process to achieve pet food of the highest quality and palatability.What is vacuum coating with a mixer?Vacuum coating with a mixer is a processing technique used to add high percentages of liquid additives to extruded products. It allows producers in the Pet Food and Fish Food sectors to significantly improve the quality and characteristics of animal food. This process involves adding functional additives such as fats, oils, water-based additives (e.g., antioxidants), and powdered additives. Using vacuum coating technology, oily additives penetrate homogeneously inside the kibble. This results in high-quality and more nutritious Pet Food and Fish Food, and consequently, healthier animals because they are properly nourished. An additional advantage of this process is protecting the kibbles from possible breakage and crumbling.How does the MIAL Vacuum Mixer/Coater work?The product is dosed into special hoppers.Subsequently, the product passes inside the MIAL Mixer/Coater. In the mixing unit, a vacuum environment is created, and the products, thanks to their porosity, are deprived of the air inside them.While maintaining the vacuum inside the machine, predetermined quantities of liquid additives such as fats and oils are sprayed. Water-based and powdered additives can also be added in a subsequent phase, but within the same treatment cycle.When the inside of the machine returns to atmospheric pressure, the oily additives present on the surface of the kibbles are pushed by the air inside them. The use of vacuum ensures that the additives penetrate deeply into the product. Furthermore, this process also has the advantage of protecting the kibbles from possible crumbling.After this step, additional layers of coating or flavors are applied to each particle, resulting in a high-quality extruded product.Often, a thin layer of fat is applied to the granular product. This layer makes the material more palatable and elastic, so it breaks or crumbles less quickly.The entire process is very fast and takes only a few minutes.Some more curiosities...The percentages of additives are extremely precise because the product is alternatively weighed in one of the two hoppers before dosing.
