hydraulic, with chain, tractor-mounted, self-propelled
Description
Overview The MH45 is a hydraulic trencher designed to be fitted to 8+ tonne excavators. Take on trenching work with a medium-size excavator – 3 to 5 times faster than with a digging bucket.
The MH45 at a glance
Between 50 and 75 metres/hour* (speed factors: ground conditions, depth and width of the trench)
Ideal for fibre optic cables, water pipes and drainage/irrigation systems
Produces a clean-cut & narrow trench
Productive backfilling with spoils left on one side of the trench (auger places finely cut spoils)
A fraction of the cost of a self-propelled trencher
Main features & components
Maximum depth: selectable options 0.8 m, 1.0 m or 1.2 m
Trench width:
Standard boom & chain: 125 to 200 mm
Optional narrow boom & chain: 64 to 84 mm
Standard chain with individual links fitted with soil blades & carbide teeth OR welded narrow chain
Soil evacuation auger to place finely cut spoils to the side of the trench for fast backfilling
Direct drive motor to enable optimum power and torque to the digging chain
Attachment intended for excavator mounting
Weight (approximate): 400 kg
Excavator requirements
Minimum excavator mass: 8+ tonne
Hydraulic supply: direct & continuous hydraulic oil supply
Flow: 100–150 L/min
Pressure: 160–180 bar
Why choose the MH45?
Productivity – dig 3 to 5 times faster than using a digging bucket
Clean trench – pipes, ducts and cables can be easily laid at the bottom of a clean trench
Rapid backfilling – auger places spoils to the side for quick backfill with a simple blade
Minimal maintenance – visual inspection, monthly greasing, chain tension and teeth wear checks; long service life if maintained
Ease of use – operable by any experienced excavator operator
Cost-effectiveness – lower capital cost compared with self-propelled trenchers
Fast spare parts delivery and availability to support uptime
Frequently asked questions (summary)
Can the MH45 go on any excavator? The MH45 requires a minimum of an 8-tonne excavator with direct and continuous hydraulic oil supply of 100–150 L/min at 160–180 bar.
Is the MH45 easy to maintain? Yes — any skilled excavator driver can perform routine maintenance and inspections.
How long will the chain last? Chain life varies significantly with soil conditions, trench depth/width, chain tension and usage.
How will the chain cope with stones? The MH45 is designed for varied ground conditions and can cut through or pull out small stones; for asphalt or larger stones a larger model is recommended.
Typical trenching speed: typically 50 to 75 metres/hour depending on soil conditions.
