Description

High-pressure misting is an evaporative cooling system for dairy barns that disperses ultra-fine, fast-evaporating micro-droplets to lower ambient temperature while maintaining controlled humidity to protect bedding and hygiene.

Principle / How it works
  • Water is pressurized by a high-performance pump unit and delivered through anti-drip nozzles that prevent heavy or dripping droplets.
  • The resulting micro-droplets are extremely fine and evaporate almost instantly on contact with warm air, absorbing thermal energy and producing rapid local cooling.
  • Cooling is achieved while keeping humidity at an optimal level to avoid damaging bedding or compromising barn hygiene.


Control and automation (HSDC)
  • Controlled by the Heat Stress Dynamic Control (HSDC) unit which integrates temperature and humidity sensors to calculate THI.
  • An adaptive algorithm modulates misting frequency (seconds of misting per minute) based on THI to ensure efficient cooling without excess humidity.
  • Typical sizing note: 1 HSDC / mister box corresponds to control of approximately 16 Cyclone units.

  • Designed for dairy farming: easy to clean and resistant to water and dust.
  • Recommended combination with Cyclone 360 fans to accelerate evaporation and distribute airflow evenly across the barn.
