Gallagher’s HR0 EID ear tag reader is designed for simplicity, ergonomics and reliability. This makes electronic animal identification easier and more affordable than ever. You’ll notice this not only when reading the ear tags themselves, but also when sending the scan data to the system where you wish to process it.

Fast scanning and comfortable operation
The HR0 scans FDX and HDX ear tags with an extended scanning range of approximately 35 centimetres. You can scan by pressing the scan button or opt for continuous scan mode to quickly scan large numbers of animals in succession. With every scan, the HR0 emits a vibration, sound and light signal so you won’t miss an animal. The improved ergonomic design is perfectly balanced to rest comfortably on the index finger for prolonged use.

Direct connection to your system
After scanning, the HR0 does not store ear tag data but sends it directly via Bluetooth to the device where you need it (app, weigh scale or other systems). The reader can pair via HID mode to act like a keyboard, entering the scanned EID into text fields (e.g. Excel or web forms). The free Gallagher Animal Performance app can be used to manage animals and weighing sessions.
