Description
The TurboStar animal net is a 125 cm high sheep electric net designed to keep large game at bay. This 50-metre roll was developed by the experts at Gallagher in collaboration with the German company Euronetz. The net delivers clear visibility, mechanical stability and efficient electrical conduction to protect pastures and grazing stock.

The sheep net for predator control
The blue net with white posts is highly visible to wild animals. Ten horizontal wires ensure effective contact. Six 0.25 mm copper conductors provide excellent conductivity (approximately 0.05 Ω/m). Additionally, 40 stainless-steel conductors are distributed through the net, making it about 14 times more conductive than a standard animal net, which reduces power loss and preserves voltage when multiple nets are joined. The construction uses extra-rigid posts with double stainless-steel pins for maximum stability and minimal deflection. Vertical reinforcements prevent sagging between posts and keep the net at the correct height.

Developed from practical experience
The posts extend 3 cm above the net to compensate when vertical reinforcements rest on grass while posts are pressed to the ground. The top wire is reinforced and extra conductive. The bottom wire is reinforced, equipped with conductors and can be used as an additional grounding option in dry or stony soil with a clip (never connect this bottom wire to a positive wire). The second wire from ground has a variable connection option: in taller grass this wire can be connected to negative (earth) to prevent power loss; in lower grass it can be connected to the third wire with the metal clip to turn it into a positive wire. All wires from the third wire onward are positive. After rolling, the net can be secured with the three supplied Velcro fasteners for compact transport or storage. A repair kit is supplied as standard for minor repairs.

Extra protection and safety
In areas with high wildlife pressure or where horned species (e.g. roe deer or deer) are present, Gallagher recommends combining the net with an external fence with at least two wires to provide an additional barrier and reduce entanglement risk. For increased effectiveness the net can also be combined with lighting systems designed to deter wildlife.
