Cobia has been viewed upon as one of the mayor species in farmed fish.
Some forecast has indicated that in the long term Cobia will reach same volumes salmon globally. Because of its excellent growth rate and FCR Cobia is an interesting species.
In some markets – not only the fish meet is in high demand. Chefs in some Brazilian restaurants are using the Cobias liver in the same way as Foie Gras.
Although Cobia may be similar to Salmon in terms of size and appearance it is not similar when it comes to how to farm the fish.
