Mozaë offers Vigivel, one of the simplest and most reliable precision calving detectors on the market. Placed under the cow’s tail, it accurately predicts calving in both dairy and beef herds.
Installation is quick and easy: you just need a Mozaë base station, which also supports the Mozaë heat detection sensors. The base transmits data directly to the Mozaë app.
The sensor is strapped under the tail near the vulva, from a few hours to a week before calving. It continuously monitors tail activity and arterial temperature to generate a calving probability index. This index is displayed in the app, helping farmers anticipate births. Specific calving anomalies, such as uterine torsions or blocked calves, are also detected with high precision.
When calving begins, an alert is sent via SMS and/or phone call. Detection sensitivity is tailored to each animal, with enhanced alerts for known risk cases. If calving becomes difficult and no action is taken, a second alert is triggered automatically.
For added convenience, Vigivel can be paired with Mozaë’s camera range, enabling instant remote visual checks.
After calving, the sensor monitors placenta expulsion before it can be removed and reused on another animal. To save battery, it can also be switched off when not in use.
Simple, precise, and effective, Vigivel helps improve herd performance while reducing daily stress.
