OverviewKongskilde wooden silos (models KCT, KCE, KC) are purpose-built for drying and indoor storage of grains and seeds. Constructed from natural wood panels combined with louvered aluminium strips, they provide controlled radial airflow to manage moisture and temperature and to minimise condensation risk across varying climates. Modular design enables easy transport and on-site assembly.
How Wooden Silos FunctionThe combination of wood insulation and louvered aluminium strips produces even radial airflow. A perforated central ventilation pipe distributes air uniformly; flow control in the central pipe ensures effective drying both when silos are full or partially filled.
Benefits- Grain quality control: Maintains target moisture and temperature ranges to reduce fungal and bacterial risks.
- Modular and scalable: Sectional design for flexible capacities and simplified logistics.
- Sustainable materials: Natural wood panels for insulating storage solutions.
- Adaptable aeration: Louvered aluminium strips and central pipe ensure even airflow for different grain types and conditions.
- Prevent crop mixing: Designed for safe separation of varieties and minimal handling of sensitive seeds.
KCT — Batch DrierBatch drier optimised for gentle drying of free-flowing crops and seeds at relatively low raised air temperatures. Uses Kongskilde HVL high-volume blowers with supplementary heating when required. Key features: perforated central pipe for radial circulation, batch drying with cooling periods, self-emptying flow base assisted by a blower, and a self-adjusting filling distributor for uniform fill around the central pipe.
KCE — Drying and StorageCombined drying and storage silo for indoor applications where minimal drying is needed. Suited to high-quality cereals, malting barley and seed grain. Characterised by high air rates through a perforated central pipe, louvered aluminium strips for uniform airflow and an aeration system designed to prevent condensation in variable climates.
KC — StorageStorage-focused indoor silo for heavy free-flowing seeds and high-quality grains. Features effective aeration for both full and partially filled conditions, perforated central pipe and louvered aluminium strips. Compatible with Kongskilde blowers to enable controlled ventilation during storage. Available in multiple sizes to match crop volumes and avoid crop contamination.
