What is a counterflow cooler?
The EOLO counterflow cooler is engineered for cooling extruded products after the coating phase. It is constructed from press-folded, reinforced stainless steel sheet metal. The machine comprises a container with sensors for detecting the product layer, large inspection doors, an extractor drawer, and a cooled product collection hopper. A static deflector at the product inlet ensures correct and uniform product distribution.
For batch loading systems, EOLO can be equipped with a pneumatically actuated leveling system, such as those used with a vacuum mixer-coater. Dosing is performed in a specially designed, highly precise scale.
How does the EOLO counterflow cooler work?
The product is cooled by an upward airflow, remaining inside the cooler until it reaches a temperature slightly above ambient. Product discharge occurs via oscillating shelves in the extractor drawer, controlled by a hydraulic piston and an electronic inclination detection system. The opening, inclination, and discharge capacity of the shelves are fully automated and adaptable to the processed product type.
