From the ever-evolving breeding program at AB Cultivars comes another superior single coneflower. Named after a butterfly of the same name, Julia’s saturated, deep orange color is reminiscent of the wings of her namesake. A bright and sunny addition to any garden, this compact, yet sturdy, well branched plant makes the perfect border or massing plant. It’s also really great in a container of patio planting.
Single petaled coneflowers are simple, much more minimalist, and the birds and butterflies definitely prefer their cones to the doubles. Don’t get me wrong, they still feast on the seeds and nectar in the doubles, but they’ll go to the singles first every time.
