OverviewFront-shovel, self-suction corn thresher designed for on-site road and yard threshing. Self-propelled multi-axis models enable continuous automatic feeding and high-capacity operation.
Working principleWhen the vehicle moves, the U-shaped front shovel collects ears from the ground. An auger in the shovel feeds maize into a conveying channel; the conveyor belt and scraper transfer material to the threshing mechanism. High-speed rotating threshing rollers with swinging hammers peel kernels from cobs. Sieves separate cobs and kernels, and fans remove dust and light impurities to complete threshing.
Structural featuresUsually equipped with a hydraulic front shovel; widened shovel options improve feeding. The machine includes transmission channels, conveyor belts and multiple threshing drums (three-, five- or six-axis). Available with fully enclosed cabs, telescopic suction drums and 360° hydraulic high-level unloading for easy grain discharge.
Performance advantagesAutomatic feeding eliminates manual input, enabling high work rates (example: approx. 20,000 kg/h for model 2025). Good kernel separation with low impurity content and the mobility to operate at roadsides, courtyards and varied fields.
Power configurationTypical power starts from 22 hp; medium and large models commonly use diesel engines in the 90–130 hp range to ensure stable operation.
Example — Self-suction model 2025The 2025 self-suction five-axis self-propelled model can thresh about 20,000 kg per hour. It is equipped with a Xichai Sida 120 hp or Anhui Quanchai 130 hp engine, offers two feeding modes (air-suction and spiral front-shovel feeding), a fully enclosed cab, telescopic suction drum, 360° hydraulic rotating high-level unloading and an enlarged cob bin.
Technical advantages- Efficient threshing: multi-axis drums feed simultaneously and separate kernels quickly under high-speed rotation, enabling high net threshing rates.
- Thorough impurity removal: whistle-type or large centrifugal fans remove dust and light impurities and may collect dust to reduce pollution.
- Versatile feeding methods: dual-mode wind suction and front-shovel feeding adapt to road threshing and stacked storage scenarios.
- Operator convenience: many self-propelled models provide fully enclosed cabs and optional one-click intelligent controls.
Design featuresRobust industrial design with options for self-propelled or towed configurations; customizable for regional requirements.
Working process- (1) Feeding process: Spiral front shovel or air-suction feeder lifts ears and feeds them via conveyor chain or auger; suction uses negative pressure to admit ears from varied stacking.
- (2) Threshing process: Ears enter a multi-axis threshing drum (five- or six-axis). Wear-resistant elements on the drum interact with the concave plate under high-speed rotation to detach kernels; cobs move rearward and exit via the discharge port.
- (3) Selection and separation process: A) Screening: kernels, broken grains and impurities pass onto vibrating sieves and are separated by size and density. B) Air selection: fans generate airflow to remove light impurities such as leaves and dust; some models collect the dust.
- (4) Unloading process: Clean kernels are conveyed to the grain bin and discharged to transport vehicles using telescopic suction drums and a hydraulically controlled, 360° rotatable high-level unloading device.
