HEAVY-DUTY ENGINE RSM 2400 models come with X12 series engines (11.8L displacement). Cummins X12 engines offer the best specific power-to-weight ratio in the class, delivering up to 439 hp with a weight as low as 862 kg. The engine is equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger providing a 56 % increase in torque (up to 2,034 Nm), and thereby a faster response to load increase at low rpm. High engine efficiency provides superior fuel consumption performance (from 197 g/kWh). No major modifications are required in the no-EGR configuration to meet Stage V emission standards, which allows for a simpler engine design. QUADSHIFT® MANUAL TRANSMISSION Quadshift® III 12x4 manual transmission comes standard. This transmission has 3 speed ranges. Each range has 4 synchronized speeds that are smoothly shifted. The gear ratios are matched for flexibility and maximum performance within the main range from 4.8 to 16 km/h.
