Anti-hail System

Hail protection system by shock waves from Grupo SPAG was designed in 1972 with the purpose of supporting farmers and entrepreneurs in preserving their investments against the harsh conditions caused by hail, presenting itself as a unique product worldwide. This system can be activated manually or automatically, combining two essential components: acetylene gas (non-polluting and harmless) and oxygen, which generate a controlled explosion inside the combustion chamber of the wave generator. As a result of this process, a shock wave is unleashed and propelled into the atmosphere, repeating every 7 seconds. These waves increase the friction on the hail during its descent, minimizing and reducing its crystalline structure until it impacts the surface. In this way, the hail reaches the ground in the form of slush or water, providing complete and effective protection to crops and/or properties. A single hail protection system can safeguard a minimum of 80 hectares and cover a radius of 500 meters. After more than 50 years, Grupo SPAG's shock wave hail protection system has completely revolutionized crop protection against hail, with thousands of systems installed in over 30 countries worldwide.
