This unique FE300 model tobacco bulk curing barn stands out for its innovative, patented leaf loading/unloading system that operates in completely automatic mode. The barn is equipped with three mobile and independent shelves on which are installed, equidistant and only on one side, rows of leaf-compacting rods that press the leaves during the loading phase, hold them together during treatment, and release them during the unloading phase. Loading takes place from the top downwards and requires the use of a special loader to be positioned at the mouth of the barn. A specific container shelf, situated on the loader, is lifted to the level of the barn shelf to be loaded. The tobacco leaves are distributed into the container shelf by a conveyor belt (shown in figure). When the container is full, the barn shelf is shunted forwards until the leaf-compacting rods have emptied the container and then pressed the leaves, and until the next rods have occupied the loading position.
