Description

Overview
The Proceed V 24 is a precision seed drill engineered to place individual seeds at exact depth and spacing to optimise crop establishment and yield potential. Configured with 24 row units and a typical working width of 6 m, it offers 225 mm or 250 mm row spacing and a 2,200-litre seed hopper. An optional front hopper FH 2200 enables in-row fertiliser application.

Key benefits
  • Millimetre-accurate depth control for each seed, improving uniform germination.
  • Seed singulation with positive air-pressure transport enables lower seeding rates while maintaining or improving yields.
  • More even and vigorous crop development: increased biomass, higher shoot count per plant and uniform rows.
  • Brings planter-level singulation precision to cereals and other small-seeded crops.

Product concept and performance
The Proceed concept combines planter-style singulation with seed-drill versatility. It ensures consistent seed-to-soil contact and uniform in-row spacing, even for very small seeds. Field trials show increased biomass and shoot numbers and, in some cases, maintained yields with significantly reduced seed rates.

Seed meter and singulation
The Proceed seed meter uses positive air pressure to control seeds on rotating seed discs and to convey them down the seed tube. Three speed-independent singulators at the top of the meter remove excess seeds to ensure single-seed pick-up. Air is paused when a seed reaches the tube to allow precise placement, then resumes for consistent delivery to the furrow.

Row unit features
  • ➊ Pre-consolidation: hydraulically operated pre-consolidation wheels smooth the seedbed and provide row-by-row consolidation and moisture access.
  • ➋ Row cleaning: row cleaners remove residue, clods and stones and are mounted on parallel linkages to follow field contours.
  • ➌ Stop wheel: firms the seed at the bottom of the furrow to maximise seed-to-soil contact and promote rapid germination.
  • ➍ Closing: closing wheels ensure accurate furrow closing and maintain moisture for emergence.

Control and functionality
Proceed offers row-by-row control including individual shut-off and precision adjustments for each row unit. Row units operate independently to optimise conditions for each seed, maintaining planting precision on slopes, over vibrations and in variable field conditions.

Practical information
  • Typical configuration shown: 24 row units, 225/250 mm row spacing, 6 m working width, 2,200-litre seed hopper.
  • Compatible with front hopper FH 2200 for in-row fertiliser distribution.

Comparison and trial outcomes
In field trials (example: winter wheat at 150 seeds/m²) results recorded ten weeks after sowing include higher above- and below-ground biomass and substantially more shoots per plant compared with a modern seed drill, demonstrating the establishment and yield-building potential of precise placement.
