The HG4000E horizontal grinder is equipped with a 500-hp (373-kW) electric motor providing power to the mill. With the option to configure either a soft-start or VFD starter panel – along with Vermeer features like the duplex drum design or an optional chip drum – the HG4000E has the flexibility and features you need for productive processing on your operation. FEATURES & BENEFITS Total enclosed fan-cooled electric motor The HG4000E is equipped with a 500-hp (373-kW) WEG total enclosed fan-cooled electric motor to power the mill. A separate 50-hp (37.3-kW) electric motor powers the pump for the hydraulic circuits, while a 2-hp (1.5-kW) electric motor powers the fan to cool the hydraulic system. Motor starter panel The motor starter panel provides options to configure a control system that best fits your application - whether that’s a soft-start or VFD panel. Series II duplex drum system Improve cutting performance using the patented Series II duplex drum system designed with reversible hammers and tips to help reduce daily maintenance and nearly double wear life. Dedicated chip drum For enhanced flexibility with the HG4000E, a dedicated chip drum – adjustable for product size ranging from .125 in to 1.5 in (3.2 mm to 38.1 mm) - is available. Open-ended, wide infeed tables Maximize loading speed and productivity using the patented SmartGrind system and hydraulic feed roller down pressure. Open-ended, wide infeed tables are designed to make over-the-side loading easy and efficient.
