DescriptionManual operations in containerized forest and nursery production include cutting preparation, setting of cuttings, manual sowing of large seed, transplanting seedlings to larger tray cells, quality control and packing. BCC’s Manual Work Stations (MWS) are modular, customizable stations designed to centralize these tasks and scale with nursery output.
Standardized concepts- Two-level MWS with fixed operator tables — Suited for larger operations and multi-task workflows (e.g. setting cuttings and packing). Two levels separate in-feed and out-feed; roller conveyors typically handle tray transfer. Lower level is commonly used for in-feed while filled trays exit on the upper level to reduce worker lift distance.
- Two-level MWS with tilt-control operator tables — Trays arrive on an upper accumulating roller conveyor. Each operator table includes a pneumatic cylinder for controlled tilting; after filling, the table tilts to slide the tray onto the lower out-feed conveyor.
- Three-level MWS — Optimized for packing lines. Trays are fed on the middle level; operator tables (with pneumatic tilt) support both tray and packing box/bag. After packing, empty trays are placed on the upper level and the cylinder slides the packed box/bag to the lower out-feed conveyor.
- Closed-loop MWS — Designed for high operator density in limited floor area. Operates like a carousel adjacent to the production line with a transfer area. Trays enter and exit the loop via pushers and stoppers controlled by queue-detecting sensors.
