DescriptionGEA seed drills are designed for medium to large areas and can be either mounted or trailed using an implement-carrying cart. The frame with distribution units is attached to the carrier's lift while the hopper is positioned in front of the wheels. Machines are available in seed-only or seed-and-fertiliser versions, with independent metering units on combined models. The pneumatic system uses a fan driven by the tractor hydraulic system. The drive wheel can be engaged or disengaged from the operator's seat. An electronic control unit notifies the operator of metering rotation, fan speed and minimum product reserve.
Operation and equipment- Trailed configuration via implement-carrying cart to avoid unbalancing the tractor
- Hopper positioned ahead of the wheels
- Seed-only or seed-and-fertiliser versions with independent metering units for combined machines
- Pneumatic system with fan driven by the tractor's hydraulic circuit
- Engageable/disengageable drive wheel from the operator's seat
- Electronic control to monitor metering rotation, fan speed and product level
- Optional operator-operated marker arms available
Operational characteristicsMounted and trailed GEA seed drills operate effectively on hilly and undulating terrain thanks to two independent half-frames that adapt to ground contours. The ability to fold the half-frames facilitates transport; with the half-frames raised the transport width is reduced to 2.70 m. The tools can be fitted with a 150 mm coulter or chisel shares, allowing seeding even on soils that are not perfectly prepared.
