Description

Overview
H-walls designed for trench (corridor) silos to preserve corn and grass. Freestanding concrete elements that create a circulation path and do not require backfilling with soil or sand. Two model sizes are available for fast, modular construction of clamps.

Models available
CUAGRIZH 316X250 CM and CUAGRIZH 423X250 CM (examples of standard elements).

Usage
Elements allow rapid, simple construction of trench silos. Suitable for covering systems (foil or tarp) and for dividing existing silos to create separate clamps.

Features
  • Groove-to-groove connection
  • Easy to cover the clamp with foil or roof system
  • Practical for subdividing existing silos
  • Concrete quality: C60/75
  • No need to fill elements with soil or sand (freestanding)
  • Concrete corridor/top walkway provided 1 m from the edge

Lifting and handling
  • Required lifting equipment: 4 x KKA 5T
  • Required lifting equipment: 4 x HBS RD24
  • Lifting beam

Performance
The walls are calculated to withstand axle loads up to 15 tonnes with an edge clearance of 0 cm, allowing compaction over the full silo width. Stairs are available on request. Tandem and tridem vehicle combinations require a specific structural calculation.

Technical information
Axle load is calculated by dividing the compactor mass by the number of axles (commonly 2). All walls are designed with 0 cm edge clearance so vehicles can drive up to the edge and use the full silo width for compaction.

Types of lifting hooks
The following lifting anchors/hooks are required to move the elements: ball-head anchors (KKA) and HBS RD24. Refer to the technical sheet for required lifting hooks per wall type.

PVC battens
3 cm PVC battens are placed between elements: they do not crack or splinter, do not absorb moisture and do not rot. They retain mechanical properties between -18 °C and +50 °C. Foam joints can be used between high walls to reduce sealant consumption.

Sealing
SIKAFLEX joint sealant is applied where walls are placed side by side. The installer applies Sikaflex to both mating faces to form a strong joint. CBS Beton can supply backfill strips, foam joints, a sealant gun and Sikaflex.
