ProductCS Udder Care is a contact spray by Comfort Solutions formulated from essential oils and natural ingredients to soothe, support and aid skin absorption in udders and quarters of dairy cows. It is intended for use around calving and during lactation to reduce oedema, support udder condition and lower the risk of mastitis. The formula penetrates the skin to act beyond superficial relief.
Main features- Contact spray absorbed through the skin.
- Contains essential oils with antibacterial, antifungal and circulation‑stimulating properties.
- Two variants: Green (with visible dye for marking) and Yellow (no added dye, naturally yellow).
- No milk withdrawal period after application.
Benefits- Reduces udder oedema
- Reduces incidence and severity of mastitis
- Can lower antibiotic use
- Helps decrease somatic cell count (SCC)
- Improves milkability and udder condition
- Supports teat quality, production and lactation persistence
Variants and packaging- Udder Care Green: leaves a visible mark until the next milking—useful on farms with multiple operators.
- Udder Care Yellow: leaves no visible dye, natural yellow colour from ingredients.
- Available in 500 ml bottle with spray, 4 L can with pump, 10 L and 20 L cans with tap. Larger volumes available on request.
How to useFor optimal results ensure the udder is clean; removing udder hair improves absorption. Shake well before use. On hairy udders, rub the product in after spraying to ensure skin contact; on sparsely haired udders spraying alone is sufficient.
Application instructions- Treat the whole udder or only the affected quarter as required.
- For hard quarters: treat for 4 days, twice daily.
- Around calving: spray the complete udder 4 days, twice daily before or around calving to treat and prevent oedema.
- Spray technique: hold nozzle close for a fine mist, spray from 15 cm in a smooth top‑to‑bottom motion in three to four strips per quarter.
- One full udder requires on average 12 sprays (3–4 sprays per quarter).
When to use- Around calving when signs of oedema appear (press with a finger to check for persistent indentation).
- During lactation for subclinical mastitis, elevated SCC or increased milk conductivity.
- For confirmed mastitis: spray the affected quarter for 4 days, twice daily; extend treatment if necessary.
- Do not treat all cows routinely; target animals with elevated cell counts or clinical signs.
Additional applications- Can be used on open wounds, for calf disbudding and when applying ear tags following wound‑care instructions (spray wound 4 days, twice daily).
- Show animals: massage Udder Care Lotion 2x per day for 4 days before a show; avoid massaging on the morning of the show.
Ingredients and mode of actionThe product contains a blend of essential oils and botanical extracts with the following properties:
- Peppermint: anti‑inflammatory, analgesic, increases circulation and supports milk flow.
