Overview
Self-propelled harvesters excel with the perfectly matched combination of performance, driving comfort and manoeuvrability. The resulting harvest reliability, even under the most difficult conditions, plays a decisive role in many cases. With the VARITRON 470, GRIMME offers a 4-row self-propelled harvester which can be equipped with an extensive range of separators. The VARITRON 470 achieves a high degree of manoeuvrability thanks to its wheeled chassis, which is fitted with large-volume tyres as standard and gives extreme soil protection in all conditions. A large number of automatic features for the harvesting process, which can all be conveniently controlled from the premium cabin, ensure a maximum working and driving comfort. The connection to myGRIMME facilitates the storage and retrieval of machine data and task data. And, thanks to the SmartView video system, you always have an overview of the most important machine functions.

Highlights / Feature modules

• NonstopBunker XL - The new XL bunker offers a volume of 13 m³, corresponding to approx. 9–11 tonnes depending on crop and impurities. The bunker unloading web has a width of 1.6 metres. Hopper extensions fold hydraulically for road travel. After each unloading the NonstopBunker can be refilled completely without stopping.
• Improved driving and operating comfort - Optional premium comfort cab with extra sound insulation, leather seats with active ventilation and seat heating, and a cooling compartment to keep drivers focused and rested during long working days.
• SmartView - Camera system (SmartView BASIC standard with 8 cameras; SmartView PRO optional up to 13 cameras). New higher-quality camera generation with zoom and slow-motion modes; live image transmission and overview for fine adjustment of separators and cleaning mechanisms.
• High separating effect - Optional more powerful spiral rollers for the roller separator. On machines with MultiSep and Heavy Duty drive it is possible to adjust distance and height of two pairs of rollers separately. Cleaning device below the first main web and clod breakers in the second main web available for heavy soils.
• Highest crop protection in its class - Separators are arranged downstream of main webs to keep drop height low; single or double separators upstream of the fine haulm elevator protect the harvested crop by maintaining a low drop height and preserving fine soil on the crop.

  • Main characteristic of the GentleFlow concept: the main web channel and following separators are designed for the full width of the machine. At the point where the rear axle is connected to chassis, the crop flow needs to be divided; this is done in a very gentle way.
