Non-threaded versions are ideal for protecting protruding components (screw heads or nuts), as they are relatively easy to fit and can be removed again if necessary. Non-threaded plugs can be used permanently in drill holes or other openings, but are difficult to remove. Screw plugs or sealing screws are ideal here.
