Description

Overview
The John Deere H541 Air Hoe Drill is an air seeding implement designed for small-grain seeding. It combines integrated seeding technology, a flexible frame for consistent opener engagement, and multiple opener options to suit various residue and tillage conditions.

Key features
  • RelativeFlow™ blockage monitoring with row-by-row seed and fertilizer flow visibility.
  • Positive depth control via indexed mechanical depth shims and TouchSet™ for in-cab/on-the-go adjustment.
  • Multiple ground-engaging openers: knife bodies, Perma-Loc™ spoons and sweeps, and Tru-Position™ openers for low-disturbance seeding and varied spread patterns.
  • Flexible diagonal mainframe and wing flex to maintain consistent seed depth on uneven terrain.
  • AccuRate™ metering with stainless steel and composite components, individual electric meters, curve compensation, and SectionCommand™ Pro compatibility.
  • EZCal™ and ActiveCal™ systems for faster, cab-capable calibration using tank-scale data.
  • SectionCommand™ Pro for section-level start/stop to reduce overlaps and input costs.
  • TruSet™ for on-the-go downforce adjustment with field presets.
  • AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance and Turn Automation support for assisted steering and precision turns (with enabled systems).
  • John Deere Operation Center™ integration and Connected Support features (Expert Alerts, remote display access) for monitoring and proactive support.
  • Color-coded hydraulic hose handles and protected hose routing for simplified hookups and reduced downtime.
  • Optional transport-height reduction for safer road transport and storage.

Ground-engaging openers and low-disturbance options
The H541 supports a range of openers to match seeding practice and soil/residue conditions, including factory-installed knife bodies, 25 mm (1 in) and 102 mm (4 in) spread points, Perma-Loc™ spoons and sweeps for quicker change-outs, and high-productivity sweeps for heavy-residue work.

Depth control: TouchSet™ and mechanical
The H541 provides positive mechanical depth control with indexed shim packs and TouchSet™ remote/in-cab depth setting using the tractor SCV and a position sensor. TouchSet™ repeatability is ±6 mm (0.25 in); shim packs are recommended for tighter tolerances.
  • Connect nine‑pin implement connector and start tractor; SCV indicator acknowledges connection.
  • Remote rockshaft position sensor monitors implement position.
  • Set operating depth at the tool and press the set button to store depth.
  • Make on-the-go depth changes via the set button.
  • Use the upper set button to store a raise-height preset for transport or headlands.

Metering, calibration, and precision technologies
  • AccuRate™ individual electric meters for precise seeding and prescription support.
  • EZCal™ side-of-cart calibration for faster MDV updates.
  • ActiveCal™ cab-based calibration using tank-scale input.
  • SectionCommand™ Pro for sectional control to limit skips and overlaps.
  • AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance and AutoTrac Turn Automation for improved implement accuracy.
  • Operation Center connectivity for job management, prescriptions, and near real-time updates.

Durability and frame design
The H541 uses an H500-family-derived diagonal mainframe and wing flex to maintain uniform seed depth on uneven ground. Key structural components include 100 x 100 mm rank tubes, pivoting rank connectors, and durable ball joints. Manufacturer warranty terms apply.

Attachment and serviceability features
  • Color-coded, laser-engraved hydraulic hose handles for simplified hookup.
  • P-clamps, D-rings, Velcro® straps and protective sleeves to secure hoses and reduce damage risk.
  • Perma-Loc removal tool recommended for ordering Perma-Loc components.
