Description

Chives cutter is a very interesting proposition for growers of onions as it enables very precise cutting of chives just before digging of onion by a digger. The machine is produced in two versions with working width of 1.2 and 1.5 m, so that the potential buyers will not have trouble in matching the machine to the technology of sowing onion used at their farms. The cutter consists of a frame to which are attached three ground hugging wheels, mechanical transmission and a set of mowing three heads. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the machine has been designed in such a way that it is possible to mount it on the front and rear three point hitch suspension system of the cooperating tractor. Drive of the mowing heads is provided by the PTO and the mowing height is adjusted hydraulically from the tractor cabin. The operator has got the possibility of setting independent mowing height adjustment for the left and the right side of the machine in the range of 0 to 40 cm, so setting of the cutting knives to the rough terrain can be even more accurate. Each one from the three working cutting heads is equipped with two cutting knives. Their inclination angle 45º in relation to the ground and installation of specifically shaped covers of the mowing set cause that the tilting mowing heads produce air hypotension that lifts broken chieves upwards. Thanks to such effect there occurs very accurate, almost a hundred percent cleansing of onion from chives
