Overview
The Petroleum hydrocarbons analyzer AE-2 is designed for continuous automatic monitoring of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in potable, natural and waste water. It integrates a sample preparation unit and a fluorescence detector that performs hexane extraction using a patented chromato membrane technology. The analyzer supports standalone operation via a built-in microprocessor or remote control from a PC. Firmware allows custom sequences and adjustable flow rates from 0.02 to 20 ml/min. Data storage for up to 1000 values and a built-in LCD display provide on-site readout in mg/l. Outputs include RS-485 and a 4–20 mA current loop; an alarm relay is activated when thresholds are exceeded. Typical measurement cycle: 5–15 min (depending on sample concentration).

Principle of operation
Detection is based on measurement of fluorescence intensity proportional to TPH concentration after hexane extraction.
