Overview
Monosem MS precision planter designed for vegetable growers. Compatible with a wide range of small seeds (radish, lettuce, melon, endive, onion, carrot).

Metering unit — description and components

• Hopper: standard supply with 1.5 L extension; optional 3 L or no extension
• Parallel linkage: heavy-duty parallelogram on replaceable bushings with locking bolt for raised position
• Metering head: standard manual row cut-off
• Front gauge wheel: ball-bearing models; depth adjustable by hand wheel with scale
• Shoe: removable with replaceable tip; single-line, double-line or strip versions; tip profiles available
• Intermediate press wheel: adjustable ground pressure to improve seed-soil contact
• Scrapers: standard; height-adjustable and individually retractable
• Rear closing unit: pressure-adjustable; various wheel models including self-cleaning options
• Optional relief spring: double adjustable spring for soft soils

Metering system (distribution)
The MS uses a precision metering box with 1 mm stainless-steel seed discs. Key features:

• Bronze metering box body for tight seal and reduced static
• Interchangeable stainless-steel discs with agitator fixed to the disc; tool-free change
• Bronze singulator to prevent doubles; spring-held for optimal contact with disc (suitable for very small seeds)
• Cast cover with fiber seal for leak-tightness and an inspection window
• Air-jet cleaning to remove dust and residue after seed drop
• Simple metering adjustment: one accessible lever on top for identical settings across units
• Double-line option by changing shoe and disc and adding a second scraper

Microsem (microgranulation)

• Auger-based system places microgranules close to seed (insecticides, molluscicides, micro-fertilizers)
• Two augers with agitators ensure even supply from hopper
• Finger wheel distributes product into drop lines
• Adjustment via 18‑ratio gearbox or mobile app chart
• Two independent drop lines allow different products to be metered to separate outlets
• Intuitive emptying through hatches and chute

Fertilizing systems

• Standard and high-capacity mounted hoppers (mechanical or electric drive options)
• 12-ratio gearbox for fertilizer adjustment or mobile app control
• Options to place fertilizer with tines (replaceable tip) or discs (double/reinforced discs)
• Standard augers meter approx. 80–350 kg/ha; high-output augers approx. 160–700 kg/ha (at 75 cm inter-row)

• Various shoe types: narrow pointed, rounded-tip, double-row and spreader shoes for strip planting (67 or 100 mm)
• Front gauge wheels and a wide range of press wheels (flat, concave, cage, stainless-steel tire, self-cleaning)
• Intermediate press wheels with adjustable pressure and self-cleaning tires
• Scrapers, scraper adjustments and retractable scrapers
• Double-row planting kits and MS C configuration options

Frames / Chassis

• Rigid frames: economical, heavy-duty; suitable for 4–30 units and wide working widths
• Folding frames: independent wings and wheel units for contour following; easier folding for transport; suitable for fewer units
• Options: monobar, monoblock or double-bar frames and multiple wheel unit choices

Technology & ISOBUS
Seed monitors and ISOBUS solutions available to check drops, count seeds, measure inter-seed distance and enable planting-density management with GPS-guided automatic row cut-offs.
