OverviewThe rubber dairy cow waterbed CWB-100 is a water-filled mattress designed to reduce local pressure as cows lie down and rest. The front water pillow cushions the knees and the moving water surface conforms to the animal’s body, reducing the risk of pressure sores. Dairy cows typically lie down 12–14 hours per day; the waterbed adapts to the animal’s movements in the same principle as clinical patient mattresses to distribute pressure evenly.
Key advantages- Constructed from wear-resistant rubber material
- Resistant to ageing and common farm chemicals such as diluted acids and alkalis
- Good elasticity to follow animal movement
- Waterproof and vapour-proof with reinforced sealing to minimise leaks
- Improves lying comfort and may reduce skin lesions when used with appropriate bedding
Sizes- Calf waterbed — 1.0 m × 1.9 m
- Standard waterbed — 1.2 m × 1.9 m
- Pregnant cows waterbed — 1.4 m × 1.9 m
Technical parameters- Density: 1.1–1.2 g/cm³
- Tensile strength: ≥ 10 MPa
- Elongation at break: ≥ 300%
- Hardness: 65 ± 5 Shore A
- Operating temperature range: -40 to 100 °C
Installation & maintenancePlace the waterbed on a flat, clean base (straw or mattress underlay as required). Fill to the recommended water level to allow sufficient movement of the water pillow. Inspect seals and welds before use and after any mechanical impact. Clean with mild detergent; avoid sharp tools and contact with abrasive surfaces. Repair kits are available for localised leaks.
ApplicationsDesigned for dairy housing: freestall barns, calving pens, transition areas and any lying area where pressure distribution and animal comfort are required.
