Short descriptionDue to its clarity, Durathermic Clear Polythene allows around 2% more light into a polytunnel than diffused polythene, providing additional heat that benefits early- and late-season production.

Product detailsDesigned specifically for polytunnel covers, Durathermic Clear Polythene transmits approximately 92% of light and allows around 2% more light than diffused films, increasing internal heat helpful in early and late growing periods, particularly in northern and western regions with lower light levels. The film is UV-open and permits short-wavelength UV (UVB) to reach crops, unlike many greenhouse films or glass that block UVB.
Benefits of UV-open transmission include enhanced aroma, taste and colour of edible crops, earlier harvests, extended post-harvest shelf life, stimulated plant antioxidants and stronger plant structure—advantages for plant raisers and young-plant producers.
Sheets are 180 µm (720 g) thickness with a 5-season incremental guarantee against UV degradation; practical lifespans of 10–12 years (or longer) are common under correct use.
