OverviewThe Olimac DragoGT is a corn head designed for total harvesting of ears and kernels with minimal losses. It combines automatic self-adjusting suspension deck plates, longer stalk rollers, a hyper-dimensioned auger (Ø 500 mm) and selectable double or single stalk chopper configurations. Available in fixed or foldable row versions and multiple row counts to suit different combine harvesters and field conditions.
Key advantages- Automatic self-adjusting suspension deck plates for continuous adaptation to varying stalk diameters and reduced kernel loss.
- Deck plates absorb ear impact to prevent bouncing and grain loss.
- Longer stalk rollers lower peripheral speed for gentler ear separation and better stalk pressing.
- Double stalk chopper (scissor effect) with four blades per row for finer chopping and faster residue decomposition; single chopper option available.
- Hyper-dimensioned auger (Ø 500 mm) enabling higher forward speed in down/dry corn and fewer obstructions.
- Four clutches per row group, calibrated for specific movements to optimize performance and safety.
- Spiral bevel gear pairs (automotive origin) and various transmission options for high power, quiet operation and reduced maintenance.
- Foldable versions operable from the driving seat to reduce transport width and maintain visibility.
Suspension deck plates & automatic adjustmentThe deck plates are fitted with a suspension device that cushions ear impact and prevents ears from bouncing out. The automatic self-adjusting mechanism operates independently on each row, continuously adapting plate opening to different stalk sizes; no operator adjustment is required, ensuring total harvesting without losses.
Longer stalk rollersStalk rollers are extended compared with standard heads, reducing peripheral speed and providing a gentler separation of the ear. This yields a well-pressed stalk and improves harvesting quality with reduced kernel loss.
Double stalk chopper — scissor effectThe double stalk chopper mounts four blades per row (two rotating in each direction) to create a scissor action that shreds stalks twice and shortens residue. The result is much finer chopping with low power consumption comparable to a single chopper.
Hyper-dimensioned augerDragoGT features a large-diameter lateral auger (Ø 500 mm), allowing faster forward speeds in lodged or dry corn and minimizing blockages and kernel losses. Low-profile geometry and lateral augers support harvesting when ears lie very low or hang.
Transmissions and gearboxesThree transmission options are available: internal transmission with cylindrical gears for high power, internal oil-bathed transmission, and external cylindrical-gear transmission (recommended for hilly areas). Spiral bevel gear pairs sourced from automotive designs ensure full power transfer with reduced noise. Gearboxes use light alloy with cast-iron reinforcements where needed.
Configurations and customizationAvailable in fixed and foldable versions and in row configurations from 4 to 24 rows (examples: fixed 6-8-10-12-16-18-24; foldable 9-10-12-16-18). Working angle is 18°; adjustable connections maintain this angle across different combine wheel heights. A customization department develops special configurations and supplies original spare parts.
Accessories- Auger for collecting corn residues (forms and conveys residue into a swath without ground contact).
- Sunflower kit: lateral and rear protection grid and sunflower stalk cutting rotor.
- Ear-stopping rubber elements and stalk-pressing pads (for tyre protection and steep-area use).
- Automatic leveling sensors kit, light bar and autopilot options for road transport and on-road safety.
