Description

Overview
Blindex is an exclusive 4-layer extruded rubber flat fire hose engineered for demanding firefighting applications. The extruded outer cover is manufactured from a synthetic rubber compound and the hose is produced in compliance with Spanish standard UNE 23 091/2B. It offers high resistance to flame, heat, abrasion and many chemicals.

Applications
Recommended for firefighting use by municipal and industrial fire brigades, petrochemical and nuclear plants, armed forces, maritime operations and other industrial services requiring extended continuous service and enhanced protection.

Construction
Made with 100% high-tenacity synthetic yarn knitted in a circular construction, fully protected and sealed by a nitrile synthetic rubber and PVC compound extruded through the fabric to create a homogeneous structure without adhesives. The manufacturing process includes injection of the inner rubber lining and a double external cover composed of two different rubber compounds in a single operation.

Lining properties
  • Tensile strength of lining: minimum guaranteed 1750 psi (12,000 kPa).
  • Maximum elongation: minimum 450%.

Abrasion resistance
In highly abrasive conditions where abrasion is the main wear factor, Blindex extends hose service life. Meets FM2111 and UL19 abrasion test requirements.

Ozone resistance
No visible cracking of lining or cover when tested to ASTM D518 Procedure B, 100 pphm / 40°C (104°F).

Chemical resistance
Exposure to seawater and contamination by many chemicals, hydrocarbons, oils and greases does not impair hose performance. A chemical compatibility table is available to evaluate specific substances.

Heat resistance
The hose withstands a surface temperature of 600°C (1112°F) for at least two minutes without rupture or damage to the synthetic reinforcement when subjected to a static pressure of 100 psi (700 kPa).

Operating temperature range
From -20°C (-4°F) to 80°C (176°F). Special versions for higher or lower temperatures available on request.

Presentation and lengths
Standard lengths: 15 m (50 ft), 20 m (66 ft), 30 m (100 ft) and 60 m (200 ft). Special lengths such as 100 m (330 ft) and 200 m (660 ft) available on request.

Standards
Manufactured in accordance with Spanish standard UNE 23 091/2B.
