DESCRIPTION
In pig production the critical moments come round with every batch: entry to the finishing unit, feed changes, mixing animals from different origins and the sow's farrowing period. That is when parasite pressure and an unbalanced gut flora turn into lower intake, uneven batches and poorer feed conversion.
Vitaid Porcino is AMBiotec's phytobiotic solution for pigs of all categories: a liquid premixture of natural plant extracts (essential oils) and natural vitamin E, given in the drinking water in short five-day programmes. It is the pig version of the Vitaid line, designed to act at specific moments of risk without touching the feed.
Its action is based on the balance of the digestive microbiota: the phytobiotics favour the growth of beneficial flora over undesirable flora, help to protect the intestinal mucosa and reduce its permeability, and support the animal's natural defences.
WHAT IT BRINGS TO THE FARM

• Parasite pressure: nutritional support on farms with coccidia, cryptosporidia, nematode and cestode loads; it fits into the farm's parasite control programme without replacing it.
• Gut microbiota: stimulates the growth of beneficial microbiota and reduces the effects of toxins from undesirable bacteria such as clostridia.
• Mucosa and defences: protects the intestinal mucosa by reducing its permeability and strengthens the immune system's defences.
• Zootechnical results: better nutrient utilisation and more uniform batches.
• Easy handling: given in the drinking water in five-day programmes, with no change to the batch's feed.

TARGET SPECIES AND PRODUCTION STAGES

• Piglets: entry to the finishing unit, at 25–30 kg body weight.
• Growing pigs: from 80 to 100 kg live weight.
• Finishing pigs and breeding stock: all finishing stages and breeding animals.
• Lactating sows: during lactation.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• Administration: orally, via the drinking water. Water-soluble product.
• Piglets entering the finishing unit (25–30 kg): 0.5 ml per piglet per day for 5 days.
• Growing pigs (80–100 kg LW): 1 ml per pig per day for 5 days.
• Finishing pigs and breeding stock: 1.5 ml per animal per day for 5 days.
• Lactating sows: 4 ml per sow per day for 2 days.

Field example: a batch of 1,000 piglets entering the finishing unit receives 500 ml of Vitaid Porcino a day in the drinking water, 2.5 litres over the five-day programme.
Practical points: dose with the proportional dosing pump or the header tank, calculating the batch's daily amount from the number of animals; apply the programme at moments of risk (entry to finishing, feed changes, mixing and farrowing); and keep the container tightly closed between uses.
COMPOSITION AND ANALYTICAL CONSTITUENTS

• Composition: monopropylene glycol and sanitised water.
• Additives (per kg): technological additives: glyceryl polyethyleneglycol ricinoleate (E484) 34 %; mixture of flavouring substances 206,631 mg. Nutritional additives: RRR-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (3a700ii) 29,500 IU.
• Analytical constituents: dry matter 29 %, crude protein below 1 %, crude fibre below 1 %, crude oils and fats 10 %, crude ash below 4.5 %, calcium below 0.1 %, phosphorus below 0.1 %, sodium 0.03 %, lysine below 0.1 %, methionine below 0.1 %.
• Physico-chemical properties: yellow liquid with a characteristic odour; water-soluble.
• How the formula works: the essential oil blend is the phytobiotic fraction; the E484 emulsifier and monopropylene glycol keep it dispersed in the drinking water, and natural vitamin E completes the formula.
