Description

DESCRIPTION
In pigs, the periods of highest digestive risk are concentrated in just a few weeks: the pre-farrowing period and lactation in the sow, and weaning in the piglet, when diet, housing and group all change at once. On top of the farm's parasite pressure there is often a mycotoxin load in feed cereals that cannot be seen but takes its toll on intake, defences and litter and batch performance.
Micoxcocci Pig is the mineral complementary feed of AMBiotec's Mic-Ox line for pigs of all categories. It combines a mixture of plant-derived flavouring substances (essential oils), prebiotics (β-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides) and two clays, bentonite and sepiolite, which act as toxin binders. It is added to the feed at the feed mill or on the farm. It is the product in the range that brings together, in a single supplement, support against parasite pressure and management of mycotoxin risk in sows, piglets and fattening pigs.
Its action rests on three fronts: the balance of the digestive microbiota, the protection of the intestinal mucosa by reducing its permeability, and the adsorption of bacterial toxins and mycotoxins in the digestive tract before they are absorbed.
WHAT IT BRINGS TO THE FARM
  • Parasite pressure: nutritional support on farms with coccidia, cryptosporidia and nematode challenge. It fits into the farm's parasite control programme without replacing it.
  • Mycotoxins and bacterial toxins: acts as a binder and adsorbent of mycotoxins and of toxins from undesirable bacteria such as clostridia, and controls the toxic effects of the 6 most pathogenic mycotoxins.
  • Mucosa and defences: stimulates the growth of beneficial microbiota, protects the intestinal mucosa by reducing its permeability and strengthens the immune system's defences.
  • Performance: better use of nutrients and, thanks to its antioxidant activity, helps to improve meat shelf life.
  • Easy handling: added to the feed, with no withdrawal period before slaughter.
TARGET SPECIES AND PRODUCTION STAGES
  • Breeding sows: the week before farrowing and throughout lactation.
  • Weaned piglets: in the nursery (transition) feed after weaning.
  • Fattening pigs: in the grower and finisher feed.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
  • Administration: orally, via the feed.
  • Sows, the week before farrowing: 3 kg/t of feed.
  • Lactating sows: 1.5 kg/t of feed.
  • Weaned piglets: 1.5 kg/t of feed.
  • Fattening pigs: 1 kg/t of feed.
Field example: a 10-tonne batch of lactation feed takes 15 kg of Micoxcocci Pig, and a 20-tonne batch of fattening feed, 20 kg.
Practical points: pre-blend the product with a small part of the feed before adding it to the mixer, so that it spreads well; respect the mixing time; and wear respiratory protection, goggles and gloves when handling the powder.
COMPOSITION AND ANALYTICAL CONSTITUENTS
  • Composition: calcium carbonate, β-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides, dextrose, carob powder, whey permeate, magnesium carbonate and monopropylene glycol.
  • Additives (per kg): mixture of flavouring substances 179,080 mg. Technological additives: bentonite (1m558) 167,200 mg; sepiolite (E562) 140,800 mg; silicic acid 6,380 mg. Nutritional additives: betaine HCl (3a925) 33,440 mg; RRR-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (3a700) 286 mg.
  • Analytical constituents: crude protein 5.8 %, crude fibre 2.7 %, crude fat 0.1 %, crude ash 48 %, calcium 9.9 %, phosphorus 0.1 %, sodium 0.17 %, magnesium 2.0 %, lysine below 0.1 %, methionine below 0.1 %.
  • Physico-chemical properties: solid powder of characteristic colour and odour; density 0.7 ± 0.1 g/ml.
  • How the formula works: the aromatic fraction provides the phytobiotic action, the prebiotics support the microbiota, and bentonite and sepiolite are what bind the toxins; the rest of the base is mineral and energy.
SAFETY AND COMPATIBILITY
  • Natural origin: ingredients of natural origin, with no known side effects, that do not generate resistance.
  • No withdrawal period: no withdrawal period is needed before slaughter.
  • Label contraindications: do not use simultaneously with macrolides. Simultaneous use with coccidiostats is contraindicated if the complete feed contains more than 5 kg/t of bentonite.
  • Handling: wear respiratory protection, goggles and gloves.
  • Veterinary judgement: Micoxcocci Pig is a complementary feed and does not replace the diagnosis or judgement of the veterinarian responsible for the farm.
LOGISTICS
  • Format: 25 kg bag.
  • Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
  • Storage: keep the container tightly closed, in a cool (not above 25 °C), dry place, away from heat sources and sunlight.
REGULATORY FRAMEWORK
  • Category: mineral complementary feed for pigs of all categories.
  • Registration number: ESP45000371.
  • Manufacturer: manufactured and marketed by Agroalimentaria Manchega de Biotecnología, S.L. (AMBiotec), Toledo (Spain).
