Description

Product overview

The ARPAL AM-80TR (Classic series) is a compact tractor-mounted (PTO-driven) wood chipper designed for fast processing of branches up to 80 mm in diameter with a throughput of up to 4 m³/h. Easy on power — it runs on tractors and mini-tractors from just 16 HP — it suits small farms, orchards, landscaping contractors and estate maintenance. The machine complies with EU safety directives and is trusted by customers in Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and beyond.

The chipper converts branches and timber waste into uniform firewood chunks of 60–120 mm — a superior fuel for solid-fuel and pyrolysis boilers, fireplaces and stoves, and an ideal feedstock for charcoal production. Thanks to the optimal fraction size, the chunks season naturally without specialized drying and store significantly better than traditional logs.

Key features

  • Tractor PTO drive — no separate engine to fuel or maintain; compatible with tractors and mini-tractors from 16 HP (recommended 20 HP), max. PTO speed 540 rpm.
  • PureCut shredding technologies: ARPAL ExtraCut blades in AISI 5140 steel with a precision double-bevel edge, induction-hardened to ~50 HRC over a ductile core — up to 200 m³ of wood per sharpening, up to six maintenance cycles.
  • KineticCore gearbox with 3.2× torque multiplication — confident cutting of maximum-diameter branches even with low-power tractors.
  • Stabilizing inertia flywheel compensates peak loads and prevents RPM drops on thick branches.
  • SmartFix tapered couplings ensure perfect blade alignment and slip on extreme overload (~2000 Nm), protecting shafts and gears.
  • ARPAL Total Protect safety package: protective friction clutch in the cardan shaft shields the drive train from overload; extended hopper geometry makes contact with the blades physically impossible; Quick Stop emergency handle at the hopper edge; fully enclosed transmission with protective shields and a safety curtain at the input.
  • ErgoBase functional design: reinforced hopper with 4 mm steel flange and perimeter stiffening ribs, plug-and-play operation, easy hand-access to service points, and premium electrostatic powder coating that keeps the machine corrosion-free and "like-new" even after years of outdoor use.
  • Flexible discharge: into a bag, trailer or directly on the ground.
  • Options: additional blade sets; T2 cardan shaft (standard); T2 cardan shaft, extended (for T-40 type tractors).
