To address this risk, filtration should be applied in stages through the sprayer moving from coarse at filling through to fine mesh at the nozzles. Source to tank Coarse filtration by a foot filter or a basket filter during filling. Where water is drawn from a bowser a suction hose filter can be used. Tank to pump Coarse/medium filtration to protect the sprayer pump Pump to nozzles Medium filtration positioned between pump and pressure regulator or line filters between each boom section. Fine nozzle filters can be used as a fail safe.
