The PTH 40.70 is a medium-sized chipper, which is especially appreciated by the forestry operators and maintenance workers, because it demonstrates the highest versatility, being able to process, thanks to the large 640 x 400 mm inlet, both large quantities of branches and off-cuts, and occasionally logs up to 40 cm in diameter. These drum machines are available in two engine types; they are platform-mounted in trailer-mounted version or on tracks and radio remote control (for working on uneven and swampy terrain). The PTH 40.70 can be equipped with an open or a closed drum, depending on the customer's requirements, the type of input material, the desired wood chip quality and the intensity of use. The closed drum not only requires less maintenance, but allows to define the size of the wood chips and ensures that these are uniform and homogenous; the support of the interchangeable calibration grid prevents the occasional generation of outsized chips regardless of the input material type. The machines of the PTH 40.70 series can be fed manually or by mechanical means, or by mixed solutions. For those users operating exclusively with manual loading, the chipper is equipped with a robust safety bar and a state-of-the-art push-button panel to ensure an intuitive and safe managing of the machine by the operator, present by the machine board. Thanks to the large hopper, the chipper can also be fed by means of a forestry grapple: in this case the supply includes a special remote control. A specific set-up is also available for those who use either the manual and the automatic loading mode
