OverviewPWL MasterFlow is a corn header developed and designed in detail by professionals with many years of experience. The header features an optimally simple and durable construction with the longest rotors available on the market, enabling operating speeds up to 12 km/h. Standard equipment includes a roto-cut propeller cutter that shreds stems at 25 m/s. Continuous mass flow is ensured by the section design which prevents clogging. Grain augers for lodged maize are standard. Available working widths: from 4 to 12 rows on a rigid frame and from 6 to 12 on a hydraulically folded frame.
Key features- System: roto-cut — excellent cutting quality; can be engaged/disengaged with a key; directly connected to the harvest drive gearbox; mounted at the back of the section; equipped with steel knives (60 HRC) with tungsten carbide; cutter knives cut maize at 25 m/s; 2- and 3-knife cutters available.
- Gearboxes in cast-iron housings — bevel gearboxes in oil bath with carbon steel gear wheels (approx. 50 HRC) ensure long, defect-free operation even in severe conditions.
- Long service life of working elements — wear-resistant materials with tungsten carbide coverage (hardness >60 HRC) allow operation up to approximately 200 ha per row; reversible blades extend usable life; counter-knives adjustable to prevent wrapping and to work in wet, weed-infested conditions.
- Long working sections — harmonised rotor length and rotational speed; rotors total length 680 mm and gearbox input speed 620 rpm enable high operating speed with minimized grain losses.
- Central adjustment system for stripper’s deck plates — gap adjusted from operator’s cabin via hydraulic or electric actuator depending on combine; individual sections can be calibrated manually; chains operate on large-diameter gear wheels positioned close to the stripper gap to prevent corncob clipping and reduce adjustment needs.
- Universality — PWL headers can be mounted on any combine harvester using appropriate mounting frames, hydraulic couplings and gearbox reductions; tilt adjustment and universal frame settings allow best working angle adaptation.
- Crop dividers — flexible lightweight plastic row covers/dividers minimize crop losses and reduce total machine mass; divider widths with row spans of 70 and 75 cm selectable.
- Side spirals — conical side spirals are standard for lodged maize; simple, light and durable for high efficiency in damaged crops.
- Drive transmission — rigid headers: external drive via cast-iron angular gearboxes and PTO shafts; hydraulically foldable frames: internal drive chain and central trapezoidal couplings; drive engaged from cabin; central friction clutch protects machine against jams and allows higher working speeds.
- Active chain tensioners — chains tensioned automatically via internal springs for correct tensioning during operation; simplifies maintenance and chain replacement.
