OverviewThe CuttingEdge Double is an automated cutting planter designed for high-throughput planting of rooted and unrooted cuttings. The dual-head configuration enables a capacity of 4,000–4,500 cuttings per hour, suited for nursery and propagation operations.
DescriptionPlug trays are loaded onto the in-feed chain conveyor, either manually or via automatic tray loading. The conveyor accurately positions each tray for processing. Cuttings are separated either manually on the pick-up conveyor or automatically using VisionAir, which combines advanced vision detection with precision air jets to deliver well-separated cuttings to the system. The CuttingVision camera system from TTA-ISO inspects each cutting; qualified cuttings are placed into the plug trays by a robotic planting arm. Rejected or duplicated cuttings are routed back to the operator via an integrated return system for rework or removal.
VisionHub by TTA-ISOData produced during teach-in and annotation of cutting setups is collected in VisionHub and shared across CuttingEdge users. This centralized dataset enables:
- Progressive improvement of sticking setups as more annotated data is accumulated.
- Time savings by reusing validated cutting setups available in VisionHub.
