•This is used to dig small size holes to install posts, such as for fences and signs •Auger type post hole diggers •Easy to use, and can be used to a much greater depth, as the hole can be dug as deep as the entire length of the shaft •They form a much neater hole, with a well-defined circumference •Holes can be made at pre-defined places by driving the compact tractor •Size of the hole is determined by the size (6” – 8”) of the auger used
