Description
The rumen is the engine of the farm and also its most fragile part. A ration change, arrival at the feedlot, transport stress or the weeks around calving are enough to upset fermentation, and intake and performance follow it down.
Bilantul Rum is the liquid phytobiotic from AMBiotec for cattle, sheep and goats in all categories: a blend of natural plant extracts — essential oils — with naturally sourced vitamin E, formulated to support the animal through those transitions. It is the only liquid product in the Bilantul family, which allows precise dosing by live weight and administration in drinking water, in milk replacer or directly by mouth.
Its action rests on the balance of the digestive microbiota: phytobiotics favour the predominance of beneficial flora over undesirable flora, help preserve the integrity of the intestinal mucosa and improve the use of the nutrients in the ration, with the corresponding effect on zootechnical results. Vitamin E, in its natural RRR-α-tocopherol form, provides the antioxidant support the animal needs precisely when metabolic demand is highest.

Target species and production stages

• Cattle: milk-fed calves, feedlot calves, adult cows and the periparturient period.
• Sheep: suckling lambs, adult ewes and the periparturient period.
• Goats: suckling kids, adult does and the periparturient period.

Directions for use
Shake before use. Oral administration, always diluted: never given neat.

• Cows, feedlot calves, adult ewes and does: 10 ml per 100 kg of live weight per day, diluted in an equal part of water, for 2 days. A 600 kg cow takes 60 ml of product plus 60 ml of water.
• Weaned calves, in cases of bloat, acidosis or ruminal dysbiosis: the same schedule, 10 ml of product plus 10 ml of water per day per 100 kg of live weight, for 2 days.
• Milk-fed calves, lambs and kids: 1 ml per litre of milk replacer throughout the milk-feeding period, or 2 ml per litre of rehydration solution.
• Pre-calving preparation: in cows, ewes and does, the two-day schedule is given three weeks before parturition.

Practical notes from the field: shake the container at every use, because the magnesium carbonate settles and a dose poured without shaking does not have the same concentration as the rest. In milk-fed animals the existing feeding routine is used, so no extra handling of the animal is added. In adults the calculation is direct: live weight in hundreds of kilos times 10 ml, plus the same volume of water.

Composition and analytical constituents
Composition: hygienised water, propylene glycol and magnesium carbonate.
Additives (per kg): mixture of flavouring compounds 16,450 mg/kg. Technological: polyethylene glycol glyceryl ricinoleate (E484) 1.98 %, xanthan gum (1d415) 0.22 %, potassium sorbate (1k202) 0.16 % and silicic acid (E551a) 0.05 %. Nutritional: RRR-α-tocopheryl acetate (3a700ii) 1,880 IU/kg.
Analytical constituents: crude protein 1 %. Crude ash 1.1 %. Crude fibre and crude oils and fats, below 1 %. Sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, lysine and methionine, below 0.1 % in all cases.
Physico-chemical properties: white liquid with a characteristic odour.
How the formula works: the phytobiotic fraction is declared as a mixture of flavouring compounds at 16,450 mg/kg, the level that gives the product its character and its acceptance by the animal, and it is also the reason it is always given diluted, so that it is distributed through the whole volume the animal will consume. RRR-α-tocopheryl acetate is vitamin E in its natural stereoisomeric form, with greater biological activity than synthetic all-rac forms. Propylene glycol acts as a miscible carrier, so the product disperses evenly in water, milk or rehydration solution, and the magnesium carbonate stays in suspension: hence the instruction to shake.

Safety and compatibility
Naturally sourced ingredients with no known side effects. They do not generate resistance and show no incompatibility with other products in the nutritional programme of the farm.
The simultaneous use of different organic acids or their salts is contraindicated when one or more of them are used at or close to the maximum permitted content; the warning refers to the potassium sorbate in the formula.
Bilantul Rum is a complementary feed and does not replace the judgement of the responsible veterinarian.

Logistics
Formats: 250 ml bottle, 1 kg bottle, 5 kg jerrycan, 20 kg jerrycan and 1,000 kg IBC. Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture. Storage: in a cool, dry place away from heat sources and sunlight, with the container tightly closed.
