Description

DESCRIPTION
Weaning, the move into fattening, peak lactation or any high-performance phase expose the animal to a digestive imbalance: enteric pathogens gain ground, feed efficiency drops, and the risk of diarrhoeal processes and acidosis increases.
RFN WS is AMBiotec's probiotic for cattle, sheep and pigs in all categories: an active culture of live yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) that is rehydrated and fermented on the farm itself before being administered. It is the only genuinely probiotic product in the Balance range — the rest are phytobiotics or postbiotics — and also the only one that requires this prior fermentation, which makes it a more professional management tool than the rest of the nutritional programme.
Its action does not depend on the powder itself but on the broth produced by fermenting it: during the twelve hours of fermentation, the yeast multiplies and generates fresh metabolites — B-group and K vitamins, proteins and peptides that support immunoglobulin A production — and these are what actually reach the animal. This broth favours the predominance of beneficial microbiota over pathogenic microbiota and strengthens intestinal cell activity and integrity.
WHAT IT BRINGS TO THE FARM
  • Improves the use of nutrients from the ration and zootechnical performance in all three species.
  • Helps limit the proliferation of enteric pathogens (E. coli, clostridia and salmonella, among others) and the associated risk of diarrhoeal processes.
  • Helps counteract the toxic effect of mycotoxins present in feed.
  • Improves the animal's resistance to heat stress and, in high-performance cattle, helps reduce the risk of acidosis (an indication recorded in the product's technical data sheet).
  • Naturally sourced ingredients with no known side effects, which do not generate resistance and show no incompatibility with the rest of the farm's nutritional programme.
SPECIES AND PRODUCTION STAGES
  • Cattle: suckling calves, growing-fattening calves, dairy cows, adult beef cattle.
  • Sheep: suckling lambs, growing-fattening lambs, adult ewes.
  • Pigs: weaning piglets, breeding sows.
METHOD OF USE
  • Preparation, common to all three species: add 20-25 litres of water at room temperature to a fermenter, add the corresponding dose of RFN WS, leave to ferment for 12 hours, allow to cool to room temperature, then administer mixed into the drinking water, over the forage, or added to the TMR (unifeed) wagon.
OFFICIAL DOSES (LABEL AND TECHNICAL DATA SHEET)
  • Cows: 10 g/cow/day.
  • Beef cattle: 5 g/animal/day.
  • Sheep: 2 g/ewe/day.
  • Piglets: 1 g/piglet/day.
Period of use: during the productive lactation period, for a maximum of ten months.
Additional stage-specific guidance, from the commercial brochure: suckling calves, 1-2 g/calf/day mixed with milk replacer; growing-fattening calves, 3-4 g/calf/day; lactating ewes, 2-3 g/animal/day; suckling lambs, 1-2 g per 10 animals/day; growing-fattening lambs, 1-2 g/lamb/day; breeding sows, 3-4 g/sow/day; weaning piglets, 1-2 g/piglet/day.
Field example: on a farm with 50 dairy cows, the daily dose (10 g/cow) amounts to 500 g of product per day, prepared in a single 20-25 litre fermenter and distributed through the drinking trough or the TMR ration.
PRACTICAL TIPS
  • keep the fermenter plugged in throughout the 12-hour fermentation so as not to interrupt yeast activation; allow the contents to cool completely before administering; store the unfermented product in its original, tightly closed packaging, in a cool, dry place.
COMPOSITION AND ANALYTICAL CONSTITUENTS
  • Composition: dextrose, lactose, magnesium carbonate and ammonium phosphate.
  • Additive: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, 10⁹ CFU/g.
  • Analytical constituents: crude protein 4.4%; crude fibre 0.8%; crude oils and fats 0.5%; crude ash 1.7%; calcium: below 0.02%; phosphorus 0.23%; sodium 121 mg/kg; magnesium 4,300 mg/kg; lysine: below 0.1%; methionine: below 0.1%.
  • Physico-chemical properties: coarse powder, white in colour, characteristic odour.
  • How the formulation works: RFN WS is a live culture of Saccharomyces cerevisiae on a sugar base that serves as its substrate. What is given to the animal is not the powder but the broth that results from fermenting it on the farm.
SAFETY AND COMPATIBILITY
  • Naturally sourced ingredients, with no known side effects. They do not generate resistance and show no incompatibility with other products in the farm's nutritional programme.
  • RFN WS is a complementary feed and does not replace the judgement of the responsible veterinarian.
LOGISTICS
  • Formats: 3 kg tub and 25 kg bag.
  • Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
  • Storage: in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight, with the packaging tightly closed.
REGULATORY FRAMEWORK
  • Category: complementary feed.
  • Registration number: ESP45000371. Manufactured and marketed by Agroalimentaria Manchega de Biotecnología, S.L. (AMBiotec), Toledo (Spain).
  • Management systems: FAMI-QS, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Formulation developed in AMBiotec's own R&D laboratory, which analyses raw materials, feed, water and faeces as part of the technical service to the farm.
