DescriptionBERGENIA purpurascens is a hardy perennial groundcover native to Asia, forming larger clumps than saxifrages. Suited to commercial landscaping and nursery production, it tolerates a range of garden conditions and performs best in partial to full shade in moist, well-drained soils. Foliage remains almost evergreen and turns purplish-red in winter; flowers are dark pink and appear in April–May.
