Description
Abies concolor (Colorado White Fir) is a very attractive, large evergreen tree with smooth grey bark on younger trees and grooved, scaly bark on older specimens. Leaves are thick, up to 5.5 cm long, nearly round in cross-section, and present an attractive blue‑green to grey‑green colour; they are arranged mainly in two ranks but some stand above the shoot. Cones are pale green when young, sometimes with a purplish bloom; bracts are hidden.
