Description'Caucasian Fir'. A noble species of great ornamental value. A large to very large tree, reaching 50–60 m in its native habitats, with tiered branches sweeping downwards. Leaves shining green above, marked with 2 white stomatic bands beneath, pectinate below. Cones 15–20 cm long, greenish when young, scales long-exserted and reflexed. A very satisfactory, generally disease-resistant species.
