Description

Product overview
The steel fence wire is High Tensile class. The wire is coated with CrapalOptimum® (a zinc–aluminum–magnesium alloy) providing five times the protection against corrosion compared to a strongly galvanized (100% zinc) coating.

Key features
The product is offered in two thicknesses with differing mechanical and electrical characteristics.
  • High Tensile class (higher tensile strength, lower elasticity compared to Medium Tensile).
  • CrapalOptimum® corrosion-resistant coating (zinc–aluminum–magnesium alloy).
  • Recommended to use Gripple joiners for connecting High Tensile wire due to its higher strength and lower elasticity.
  • Use a High Tensile reel when building a steel wire fence to make handling easier and to prevent twisting of the wire.

Notes on tensile classes
Medium Tensile: lower tensile strength but higher elasticity.
High Tensile: higher tensile strength and less elasticity; it withstands pull much better and stretches significantly less when tightened. Stronger (High Tensile) wire can be more challenging to handle and knot than more flexible Medium Tensile wire.

Tip
When building a steel wire fence, use a High Tensile reel to ease handling and avoid twisting.
