Short description
The elastic gate rope is a conductive, durable and flexible fence rope intended for gates, supplied in 25 m rolls. Diameter: 8 mm. Also available sold by the meter for customised gate widths.

Benefits and intended use
A gate made with this elastic rope is especially suitable for horses and livestock: correctly installed, the rope gate retracts when opened and remains taut when closed, preventing the gate from falling and reducing the risk of electric shock through wet ground. Its flexibility improves safety and ease of use on farms and paddocks.

Installation tips

• Measure the gate and cut the rope slightly shorter than the clear gate width; stretch the rope before cutting to avoid a gate that is too loose or too tight.
• Fix the rope to the gate post following the post spacing; ensure the rope and handle do not hang when the gate is closed.
• Do not over-stretch the rope; excessive tension reduces service life. Avoid installations that are too tight or too slack.
• Use rope connectors and end connectors together to guarantee spark-free, durable electrical connections.
• Mount the rope gate to its own insulator (separate from the main fence wire) so the gate receives power only from the handle side when closed, increasing safety for animals passing through.
• For flexible rope gates, use a heavy-duty handle with a compression spring so the handle compresses instead of stretching the rope; heavy-duty handles extend service life.
