Category WATER INTAKE
Typology SCREENS
When to use it The GGPSC sub-vertical cable screen is designed for macro-screening in large intake plants, wastewater or industrial treatment works and is optimized for installation in wide or deep channels. It is suitable where continuous, automatic removal of coarse solids is required before downstream processes.
How it is made - Sturdy frame made of press-bended steel sheets
- Set of bars forming the filter screen, fixed to the channel by support crosspieces
- Steel pendulum bucket with comb sliding on guides via wheels
- Bucket-handling system with three steel cables, a cable drum and supporting fixtures
- Pendulum gearmotor mounted on the drum shaft to drive the bucket
- Electric actuator to control bucket rotation through the third cable
- Bucket cleaning and discharge system positioned at the top section of the machine
How it works The debris accumulated on the bars is lifted by the bucket during its upward travel. At a set distance from the top, the bucket is rotated and emptied by the actuator and its geometry, discharging the screened material. After a timed pause, the bucket descends away from the screen guided by the actuator and guide system, then resumes the upward stroke approaching the bars for the next cycle. Overload protection is provided by standard dynamometric devices or optional electronic current limiters. The simple mechanical concept, fully automatic cleaning cycle and absence of moving parts submerged in water ensure reliable long-term operation.
Strengths - No mechanical moving parts submerged in water
- Suitable for deep and large channels
- Compact footprint relative to capacity
- Capable of lifting large coarse materials
- Robust construction
- Fully automatic cleaning and high operational reliability
