Description

Category / Typology
Category: Sewage
Typology: Screens (self-cleaning mobile step screen)

When to use it
The GSMN self-cleaning mobile step screen is designed for small and medium civil or industrial wastewater treatment plants that require mechanical separation of solids. It performs fine screening to remove paper, plastics and other solids, reducing sludge volume and limiting pump clogging.

How it is made
The GSMN is built from steel blades assembled side by side to form a fine screen. Alternate blades form the fixed frame and the moving section, with the moving blades connected together to create the step action.

How it works
During operation the moving blades describe a circular trajectory relative to the fixed blades. Solids deposited on the steps are lifted progressively to the upper discharge level. Intermittent operation is recommended to form a homogeneous bed of solids on the blades, which improves retention of fats, oils and sands. The unit is fitted with dynamometric load limiters for protection.

Strengths
  • Fine screening for effective removal of small solids
  • High specific flow rate suitable for compact installations
  • Steel blade construction adapted to wastewater applications

Characteristics / technical specifications
