Description

Product overview
The FAV Series is a continuous-flow grain dryer engineered for high-throughput cereal drying in a single pass. Wet grain is loaded at the top, descends through the drying column and is crossed by heated air to progressively remove moisture. A dedicated cooling section at the base conditions the grain for immediate long-term storage.

Why choose the FAV Series
  • Ease of operation: Intuitive control interface for quick start-up and simplified daily operation.
  • Space-efficient throughput: High processing capacity in a compact footprint, suitable for farms and collection centers with limited area.
  • Continuous single-pass drying: Stable, linear process delivering uniform moisture reduction on large volumes.

Core components
  • Loading hopper: Special internal geometry for controlled, uniform feeding into the drying column.
  • Fans: Installed opposite the burner and operating in suction mode to ensure even airflow; fitted with silencer and damper to limit noise and dust emissions.
  • Catwalks: External and internal access walkways for safe inspection and routine maintenance.
  • Profiled air ducts: Designed to optimize grain flow and heat exchange between hot air and product.
  • Heat generator: Inline burner configurable for natural gas and LPG; diesel option available — ensures accurate modulation and uniform air temperature.
  • Extraction device: Oscillating shutters for even, controlled discharge of grain.
  • Base frame: Anchored structural foundation certified for extreme wind, snow and seismic loads.

Drying process
  • Air intake: Ambient air is drawn in and heated to supply the drying column.
  • Hot air circulation: Heated air flows through the grain bed, extracting internal moisture.
  • Exhaust: Moisture-laden exhaust air is expelled to maintain drying efficiency.
  • Product cooling: Dried grain is cooled by ambient air in the lower section before extraction and storage.

Complementary technologies
  • VAP System: STRAHL technology for additional dust-emission reduction.
  • Moisture control system: Continuous monitoring of product moisture for precise process control.
  • Extraction speed regulator: Optional inverter to adjust discharge speed.
  • Supplementary temperature monitoring: Additional probes available for finer control across dryer sections.

Control systems
STRAHL control systems provide real-time monitoring, alarms and supervisory functions to optimize the drying cycle, protect grain quality and improve operational efficiency.
