Description

Short description
The FlexSorter-S Eucalyptus is a high-speed seedling sorter that automatically selects, classifies and rejects eucalyptus seedlings. Designed for post-rooting nursery operations, it supports uniform batch production and integrates with the round tubes and flat plastic trays commonly used in the South American forestry market.

Description
The FlexSorter-S Eucalyptus is developed for the critical post-rooting stage of eucalyptus production. It inspects seedlings for quality criteria, removes outliers and allocates plants into uniform groups to improve downstream planting performance. By selecting at the right moment, the system reduces the risk of etiolation and helps maintain predictable growth schedules for large-scale nurseries and forestry contractors.

Technology
Built on a validated sorting concept and optimized for eucalyptus, the machine uses high-speed cameras, advanced computer vision algorithms and high-performance embedded processors to analyze each seedling in real time. The design accepts round tubes and flat plastic trays and integrates gripping and handling units for automated placement.

Demonstration and visualization
Images and videos demonstrate the operation of the robotic grippers, the image-capture sequence and the sorting flow, showing integration between image analysis, automatic selection and tray placement.

Benefits
  • Produces more uniform batches with faster, consistent sorting
  • Reduces risk of etiolation by selecting seedlings at the optimal post-rooting moment
  • Improves plant sturdiness and predictability of nursery outputs
  • Compatible with round tubes and flat plastic trays for operational flexibility
  • High-speed real-time analysis using advanced computer vision and embedded processors
