OverviewThe MaxSorter is an automated transplanting and sorting solution for plugs and seedlings. It transplants and classifies plants into 2, 3 or 4 grades with a throughput of 6,000 - 12,000 plugs per hour and requires one operator.
DescriptionDonor trays with plant material are manually loaded onto the infeed conveyor and can be buffered. A chain belt positions donor trays at the pick-up station. The pick-and-place unit moves along each row to pick plugs using automatically disinfected plant grippers. A pusher-pin system lifts plants gently from below when required, suitable for under- or overdeveloped root systems.
The disinfection system contains two water basins (one heated, one cooling) to control gripper temperature; temperature settings are adjustable to the client's requirements.
